Catering kitchens tend to use large amounts of hot oil and oil to prepare food. These hot oils and oils present a particularly high risk of fire. Most fires in the kitchen start in deep fryers, frying pans, uncleaned chimneys, and overheated grills.

Oil ignites spontaneously at a temperature of 350 °C, which is easily reached, and oil fires tend to spread very quickly.
Attempting to extinguish such fires with water leads to devastating oil explosions. Using CO2 extinguishers and extinguishing kits is often unsuccessful and these devices are now banned by trade associations in Germany. Kitchen fires can only be effectively combated with a specially developed extinguishing agent.

Every fire puts lives at risk and threatens people’s livelihoods. Without effective fire suppression systems, you can cause extensive damage to property. When such an event occurs, extensive refurbishment is required in most cases.

The KS 2000 compact extinguishing system has been specially designed for use in dining halls. Fire detection elements react as soon as the first small-flame combustion occurs and the fire is immediately extinguished before serious damage occurs.
The Febramax-S extinguisher used in the system works in two ways: It is sprayed onto the equipment through nozzles so that the fire is deoxygenated, creating a blocking layer on the oil or oil.

Simultaneously, the burning oil is cooled by the water in the extinguishing agent, thus preventing self-ignition. The KS 2000 is thus twice as effective and reliable as conventional extinguishers. The integrated NC switch ensures instant shutdown of all kitchen appliances and prevents self-ignition. Fire detectors are mounted in front of grease filters and approximately 1.5 meters above cooking appliances. Fires are detected earlier than comparable systems from other suppliers.
